Formula:
The Lille Score is a sum of points assigned to specific clinical criteria related to Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). Each criterion, if present, adds 1 point to the total score, except for an alternative diagnosis which subtracts 2 points.
- Active cancer (treatment within 6 months or palliative) = +1 point
- Paralysis, paresis, or recent plaster immobilization of a lower extremity = +1 point
- Recently bedridden for ≥ 3 days or major surgery within 4 weeks = +1 point
- Localized tenderness along the distribution of the deep venous system = +1 point
- Entire leg swelling = +1 point
- Calf swelling > 3 cm compared to asymptomatic leg (measured 10 cm below tibial tuberosity) = +1 point
- Pitting edema (greater in the symptomatic leg) = +1 point
- Collateral superficial veins (non-varicose) = +1 point
- Previous documented DVT = +1 point
- Alternative diagnosis at least as likely as DVT = -2 points
Interpretation of Score:
- Score ≤ 0: Low Probability of DVT
- Score 1-2: Moderate Probability of DVT
- Score ≥ 3: High Probability of DVT
