Formula:

The Gout Risk Score (GRS) is calculated based on the sum of points from your reported symptoms and uric acid levels:

  • M (Monoarticular Joint Involvement): +1 point if Yes
  • R (Joint Redness): +1 point if Yes
  • S (Severe Pain): +1 point if Yes

  • X (Recurrent Attacks): +1 point if Yes
  • U (Uric Acid >7 mg/dL): +2 points if Yes
  • T (Presence of Tophi): +3 points if Yes

Formula: GRS = A + M + R + S + B + X + U + T

Interpretation:

  • 0-3 Points: Low likelihood of gout.
  • 4-6 Points: Moderate likelihood of gout; consider consulting a doctor.
  • 7+ Points: High likelihood of gout; professional medical evaluation is strongly recommended.
