The TIMI Score for STEMI (Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction) is a crucial tool used to predict mortality risk in patients experiencing ST-elevation myocardial infarction. This calculator helps clinicians quickly stratify risk based on key clinical criteria, aiding in treatment decisions and patient management post-MI. Understanding the TIMI score is essential for optimizing care.
Formula:
The TIMI Score for STEMI is calculated by assigning 1 point for each of the following criteria present:
- Age ≥ 75 years
- Age 65-74 years
- Diabetes mellitus, hypertension, or angina history
- Systolic BP < 100 mm Hg
- Heart rate > 100 bpm
- Killip Class II-IV
- Weight < 67 kg (150 lbs)
- ST elevation in anterior leads or LBBB
- Time to treatment > 4 hours
The total score ranges from 0 to 9, with higher scores indicating increased risk.
