Use our free TIMI Risk Index Calculator to quickly evaluate the risk of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in patients presenting with unstable angina (UA) or non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). This tool aids healthcare professionals in stratifying cardiac risk and guiding treatment decisions effectively.
Formula:
The TIMI Risk Index is a sum of points based on 7 key clinical variables. Each 'Yes' answer contributes 1 point to the total score.
- Age ≥ 65 years: 1 point
- ≥ 3 cardiovascular risk factors: (e.g., hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, family history of premature CAD, current smoking): 1 point
- Known Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) with ≥ 50% stenosis: 1 point
- Aspirin use in the past 7 days: 1 point
- Recent severe angina (≥ 2 episodes in past 24 hours): 1 point
- Elevated cardiac markers (e.g., troponin I/T or CK-MB): 1 point
- ST-segment deviation ≥ 0.5 mm on ECG: 1 point
Total TIMI Score = Sum of all applicable points (0-7).
