Quickly estimate your LDL ('bad') cholesterol using our free online calculator. Input your Total Cholesterol, HDL, and Triglycerides to get an instant calculation based on the widely used Friedewald equation. Understand your lipid profile and support heart health effortlessly.
Formula:
The LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol is commonly estimated using the Friedewald equation, especially when direct measurement is unavailable. This is what our LDL Astatin Calculator utilizes:
LDL-C = Total Cholesterol - HDL-C - (Triglycerides / 5)
Where:
- LDL-C = Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (mg/dL)
- Total Cholesterol = Total Cholesterol (mg/dL)
- HDL-C = High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (mg/dL)
- Triglycerides = Triglycerides (mg/dL)
Note: This formula is most accurate when triglyceride levels are below 400 mg/dL (4.5 mmol/L).
