The Clinical Disease Activity Index (CDAI) is calculated using a simple sum of four key components:
CDAI = SJC28 + TJC28 + PGA (0-10) + MDGA (0-10)
Where:
- SJC28: Swollen Joint Count (out of 28 joints), ranging from 0 to 28
- TJC28: Tender Joint Count (out of 28 joints), ranging from 0 to 28
- PGA (0-10): Patient Global Assessment of disease activity (on a scale of 0 to 10)
- MDGA (0-10): Physician Global Assessment of disease activity (on a scale of 0 to 10)
