Formula:
The Calorie Calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor Equation to estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), then multiplies it by your activity level to find your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).
BMR (Men) = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) + 5
BMR (Women) = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) - 161
TDEE = BMR × Activity Factor
Activity Factors:
- Sedentary (little or no exercise): 1.2
- Lightly Active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week): 1.375
- Moderately Active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week): 1.55
- Very Active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week): 1.725
- Extra Active (very hard exercise/physical job): 1.9
