Formula:

For a 1st Order (6dB/Octave) Crossover, the component values for simple series-parallel filters are calculated as follows:

  • Low-Pass Inductor (L): L = R / (2 × π × Fc)
  • High-Pass Capacitor (C): C = 1 / (2 × π × Fc × R)

Where:

  • L = Inductance in Henrys
  • C = Capacitance in Farads
  • R = Speaker Impedance in Ohms
  • Fc = Crossover Frequency in Hertz (Hz)
  • π = Pi (approximately 3.14159)
