Nominal Stress Calculator

Nominal stress is defined as the force on the object divided by the original area. it will be cleared if we compare the above definition with true stress definition(which is "the force on the object divided by the actual area". In a more general sense, it can be defined by integral load parameters and sectional properties which allow its determination also in a section at the fatigue-critical point. This might be necessary when the nominal stress is varying along the structure.

This calculator calculates the nominal stress using force, cross-sectional area values.
