Formula:
The Vimshottari Dasha system uses a 120-year cycle of nine planetary periods. To calculate a Bhukti (sub-period) within a Mahadasha (major period), the formula is:
Bhukti Duration (Years) = (Mahadasha Lord's Total Years × Bhukti Lord's Total Years) / 120
- Mahadasha Lord's Total Years: The fixed duration assigned to the planet ruling the Mahadasha (e.g., Sun=6, Moon=10, Mars=7, Rahu=18, Jupiter=16, Saturn=19, Mercury=17, Ketu=7, Venus=20).
- Bhukti Lord's Total Years: The fixed duration assigned to the planet ruling the Bhukti, same as for a Mahadasha Lord.
- 120: Represents the total years in the complete Vimshottari Dasha cycle.
