Total Surface Area of Regular Pyramid Calculator

Calculate the Total Surface Area of Your Regular Pyramid

A regular pyramid must have at least 3 sides (triangle).

Discover the total surface area of your regular pyramid effortlessly using our online calculator. Perfect for students, engineers, and designers, this tool helps you quickly find the sum of the base area and lateral surface area for any regular polygonal base.

Formula:

The Total Surface Area (TSA) of a regular pyramid is the sum of its Base Area (B) and its Lateral Surface Area (LSA).

TSA = B + LSA

Where:

  • Base Area (B) for a regular n-sided polygon: B = (n × a²) / (4 × tan(π/n))
  • Lateral Surface Area (LSA): LSA = (1/2) × P × s
  • Perimeter of Base (P): P = n × a

And:

  • n = Number of sides of the regular base polygon
  • a = Length of one side of the base
  • s = Slant height of the pyramid (distance from base edge midpoint to apex)
