Unlock precise thyroid nodule risk assessment with our TI-RADS Calculator. Based on ultrasound findings, this tool generates an ACR TI-RADS score, guiding clinicians and patients through appropriate management decisions, from follow-up to biopsy recommendations. Quickly determine the likelihood of malignancy for effective care.
Formula:
The TI-RADS Score is calculated by summing points assigned to specific ultrasound features of a thyroid nodule, following the ACR TI-RADS system:
TI-RADS Score = Points(Composition) + Points(Echogenicity) + Points(Shape) + Points(Margin) + Points(Echogenic Foci)
Points for each feature:
- Composition: Cystic/Spongiform (0 pts), Mixed cystic & solid (1 pt), Solid (2 pts)
- Echogenicity: Anechoic (0 pts), Isoechoic/Hyperechoic (1 pt), Hypoechoic (2 pts), Very hypoechoic (3 pts)
- Shape: Wider than tall (0 pts), Taller than wide (3 pts)
- Margin: Smooth/Ill-defined (0 pts), Lobulated/Irregular (2 pts), Extra-thyroidal extension (3 pts)
- Echogenic Foci: None/Large comet-tail (0 pts), Macrocalcifications (1 pt), Peripheral calcifications (2 pts), Punctate foci (3 pts)
