Utilize our Sunscreen Calculator to estimate your effective sun protection time based on your skin's natural burn time and your sunscreen's SPF. Understand how long you can safely enjoy the sun before reapplication, helping you prevent sunburn and skin damage.

Understanding the Sunscreen Formula
Our Sunscreen Calculator uses a simplified model to estimate your protection time against sunburn:
Protection Time (minutes) = Unprotected Burn Time (minutes) × SPF Value
- Unprotected Burn Time: The average time (in minutes) it takes for your skin to start burning without any sunscreen. This varies significantly by individual skin type, genetics, and UV intensity.
- SPF Value: The Sun Protection Factor of your chosen sunscreen. An SPF of 30 theoretically allows you to stay in the sun 30 times longer without burning than if you used no sunscreen.
Important Note: This calculation provides an estimate for sunburn protection. Sunscreen should generally be reapplied every two hours, or more often if swimming or sweating, regardless of SPF, to maintain effectiveness against UV rays. Always follow product instructions.
