Understand and quantify internal population movements with our Sub-National Population Displacement Trend Calculator. This tool helps researchers, policymakers, and urban planners evaluate population shifts within specific sub-national regions, crucial for resource allocation and development strategies. Analyze how many people are moving into or out of a region internally to understand demographic pressures and trends.
Formula:
The calculator uses the following formulas to determine net internal displacement and the displacement rate:
- Net Internal Displacement (NID) = Internal In-Migration (IMinternal) - Internal Out-Migration (OMinternal)
- Displacement Rate (DR) = (NID / Initial Sub-National Population (Pinitial)) * 100
Where:
- Pinitial: The total population of the sub-national area at the beginning of the period.
- IMinternal: The number of people who moved into the sub-national area from other sub-national areas within the same country during the period.
- OMinternal: The number of people who moved out of the sub-national area to other sub-national areas within the same country during the period.
