SMD Resistor Code Calculator: Decode EIA-96, 3-Digit & 4-Digit Markings

SMD Resistor Code Decoder

Enter a 3-digit, 4-digit, or EIA-96 (2-digit + letter) code.

Quickly determine the resistance value of your SMD resistors using our comprehensive calculator. Supports EIA-96 (2-digit + letter), 3-digit, and 4-digit codes for accurate decoding of surface mount components. Simply enter the code and get the resistance instantly!

Formula:

This calculator decodes SMD resistor markings based on their format:

  • 3-Digit Code (e.g., 103, 4R7): The first two digits are the significant figures, and the third is the multiplier (power of 10). 'R' denotes a decimal point.
  • 4-Digit Code (e.g., 1002, 22R0): The first three digits are the significant figures, and the fourth is the multiplier. 'R' denotes a decimal point.
  • EIA-96 Code (e.g., 20C, 73X): A 2-digit number (from 01-96, representing specific E96 series values) followed by a letter multiplier. The letter defines the power of 10.
