Formula:

How Quidditch Scoring Works

In Quidditch, points are primarily scored in two ways:

  • Quaffle Goals: Each time the Quaffle is thrown through one of the opposing team's three hoops, 10 points are awarded.
  • Snitch Capture: Catching the Golden Snitch instantly ends the game and awards the catching team 150 points.

The team with the highest total score at the end of the game (after the Snitch is caught) wins the match.

Winning Condition Formula:

Let SA be the current score of Team A (from Quaffle goals).

Let SB be the current score of Team B (from Quaffle goals).

If the Snitch is caught by Team A, their final score is SA + 150. Team A wins if (SA + 150) > SB.

If the Snitch is caught by Team B, their final score is SB + 150. Team A wins if SA > (SB + 150).

If the Snitch has not yet been caught, the winning probability depends entirely on which team secures the Snitch. Our calculator analyzes these scenarios to give you a clear picture of potential outcomes.
