qSOFA Score Calculator: Rapid Sepsis Risk Assessment for Sepsis

Calculate Your Patient's qSOFA Score

The qSOFA Score Calculator is an essential clinical tool designed for rapid sepsis risk assessment. It helps healthcare providers quickly identify patients with suspected infection who are at a higher risk for poor outcomes by evaluating three key criteria: respiratory rate, altered mentation, and systolic blood pressure. Utilize this calculator for early detection and to guide timely clinical decisions.

Formula:

The qSOFA (quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment) Score is calculated by summing points based on the presence of three clinical criteria. Each criterion present contributes 1 point.

  • Respiratory Rate ≥ 22 breaths/min: 1 Point
  • Altered Mentation (Glasgow Coma Scale < 15): 1 Point
  • Systolic Blood Pressure ≤ 100 mmHg: 1 Point

A total qSOFA score of 2 or more points indicates a higher risk of mortality or prolonged intensive care unit (ICU) stay in patients with suspected infection, prompting further investigation and management.
