The Popcorn Calculator uses a simple two-step process:
- First, we estimate the total volume of popped popcorn from your kernels:
- Total Popped Popcorn (cups) = Total Kernels (cups) × 32
- Then, we divide the total popped volume by the number of people:
- Popcorn Per Person (cups) = Total Popped Popcorn (cups) ÷ Number of People
Variables explained:
- Total Kernels: The quantity of unpopped popcorn kernels you plan to use.
- Number of People: The total number of individuals who will be sharing the popcorn.
- Total Popped Popcorn: The estimated volume of popcorn after popping.
