Our Pediatric Blood Pressure Calculator helps parents and healthcare professionals assess normal blood pressure ranges for children and adolescents. Based on age, sex, and height percentile, this tool provides crucial insights into a child's cardiovascular health, aiding early detection of hypertension.
Formula:
Pediatric blood pressure assessment relies on age, sex, and height percentile. Normal blood pressure is defined as systolic and diastolic BP < 90th percentile. Hypertension is defined as systolic or diastolic BP ≥ 95th percentile, or ≥ 130/80 mmHg (whichever is lower) for adolescents 13 years and older. Elevated BP is between the 90th and 95th percentile.
Variables:
- Age: Child's age in years and months.
- Sex: Male or Female.
- Height Percentile: Child's height percentile (e.g., 50th, 90th).
- Systolic BP (SBP): The top number in a blood pressure reading.
- Diastolic BP (DBP): The bottom number in a blood pressure reading.
