The IQ percentile represents the percentage of people whose IQ score is equal to or lower than yours. It's derived using the properties of the normal distribution. The core of the calculation involves a Z-score:
Z = (X - μ) / σ
- X: Your IQ Score
- μ (Mu): Population Mean IQ (typically 100)
