Formula:
The Human Development Index (HDI) is a composite index of life expectancy, education, and per capita income indicators, used to rank countries into four tiers of human development. It is the geometric mean of three normalized indices: the Life Expectancy Index (LEI), the Education Index (EI), and the Income Index (II).
Formula:
HDI = ∛(LEI × EI × II)
Where:
• Life Expectancy Index (LEI) = (Life Expectancy at Birth - 20) / (85 - 20)
• Education Index (EI) = (Mean Years of Schooling Index + Expected Years of Schooling Index) / 2
• Mean Years of Schooling Index (MYSI) = Mean Years of Schooling / 15
• Expected Years of Schooling Index (EYSI) = Expected Years of Schooling / 18
• Income Index (II) = (ln(GNI per capita) - ln(100)) / (ln(75000) - ln(100))
