Doppler Shift Calculation

Calculate observed frequency or wavelength of a wave's observer moving source using doppler shift calculation tool. The Doppler effect (or the Doppler shift) is the change in frequency or wavelength of a wave (or other periodic event) for an observer moving relative to its source. It is named after the Austrian physicist Christian Doppler, who proposed it in 1842 in Prague.

Formula:

f = (c + vr / c + vs) × f0

where,
c - is the velocity of waves in the medium
f0 - emitted frequency
vr - is the velocity of the receiver relative to the medium; positive if the receiver is moving towards the source
vs - is the velocity of the source relative to the medium; positive if the source is moving away from the receiver
f - doppler effect observed frequency
