Perfect for cricket enthusiasts, analysts, and anyone following One Day International games impacted by weather.
Formula:
The Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method adjusts target scores in limited-overs cricket matches affected by interruptions. It uses a resource table (G-values) based on overs remaining and wickets lost to determine resources available to each team.
The simplified target calculation is:
Revised Target = ⌊ (Team 1 Score × (Team 2 Resources / Team 1 Resources)) ⌋ + 1
Where:
- Team 1 Score: Total runs scored by the first batting team.
- Team 1 Resources (R1): Percentage of resources available to Team 1 (e.g., 100% if they batted full overs without interruption, or less if interrupted).
- Team 2 Resources (R2): Percentage of resources available to Team 2 (e.g., 100% if they get full overs, or adjusted based on lost overs and wickets).
Note: R1 and R2 are G-values derived from official DLS tables based on wickets fallen and overs remaining at different stages of the match.
