Unlock fair target scores in rain-interrupted cricket with our DL Method Calculator. This tool helps you understand and apply the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method for accurate, revised targets in ODIs and T20s. Quickly determine the winning score based on resources lost due to weather delays, ensuring equitable play.

Formula:

Our DL Method Calculator uses a simplified resource calculation to demonstrate the principle of the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method. The core formula is:

Revised Target = (Team 1's Score) × (Team 2's Resource Factor / Team 1's Resource Factor) + 1

Where:

  • Team 1's Score is the total runs scored by the first batting team.
  • Team 1's Resource Factor is a simplified representation of resources (overs and wickets) available to Team 1.
  • Team 2's Resource Factor is a simplified representation of resources (revised overs and wickets available) for Team 2's chase.
Note: This calculator employs a linear approximation for resource factors, which differs significantly from the official DLS method's complex, non-linear G50 tables and other parameters. It is intended for illustrative and educational purposes to show the concept of resource-based target adjustment, rather than providing official DLS results.
