Easily determine the deciles (D1-D9) for any list of numbers with our intuitive Decile Calculator. Understand data distribution, relative positions, and key statistical insights within your dataset. Perfect for students, researchers, and professionals needing quick analysis of their numerical data.
Formula:
The k-th decile (Dk) divides your data into 10 equal parts. To calculate Dk, first sort the data in ascending order. The position of Dk is estimated using the formula:
P = k * (N + 1) / 10
Where:
- P = The calculated position of the k-th decile
- k = The desired decile (1, 2, ..., 9)
- N = Total number of data points in the set
If P is an integer, Dk is the value at that position. If P is not an integer, Dk is interpolated between the two nearest data points.
