Formula:
How the Curtain Panel Calculator Works
Our calculator simplifies the process by following these key steps to determine your curtain needs:
- Step 1: Calculate Desired Total Curtain Width (with Fullness)
Desired Total Width = Window Width × Fullness Factor
This accounts for the pleats and gathers that give curtains their lush appearance. - Step 2: Calculate Raw Number of Panels Needed
Raw Panels = Desired Total Width ÷ Single Panel Width
This gives a preliminary count before rounding. - Step 3: Determine Final Number of Panels
Final Panels = Round Up(Raw Panels)
You'll always need a whole number of panels, so we round up to ensure full coverage.
Variables:
Window Width: The total width of your window frame or curtain rod.
Fullness Factor: A multiplier (e.g., 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x) that determines how full your curtains will look.
Single Panel Width: The finished width of one individual curtain panel.
