Need to determine the correct belt length for your pulley system? Our free Belt Length Calculator provides accurate results for both open and crossed belt drives. Easily input pulley diameters and center distance to find the optimal belt size, crucial for machinery design, repair, and DIY projects. Simplify your calculations now!
Formula:
The Belt Length Calculator uses the following approximate formulas to determine the length (L) of a belt:
For Open Belt Drive:
L ≈ 2C + (π/2)(D&sub1; + D&sub2;) + (D&sub1; - D&sub2;)² / (4C)
For Crossed Belt Drive:
L ≈ 2C + (π/2)(D&sub1; + D&sub2;) + (D&sub1; + D&sub2;)² / (4C)
Where:
- L = Total Belt Length
- C = Center Distance between the two pulleys
- D&sub1; = Diameter of Pulley 1
- D&sub2; = Diameter of Pulley 2
- π = Pi (approximately 3.14159)
