Formula:
The AP® Biology Exam is typically weighted 50% Multiple-Choice (MCQ) and 50% Free-Response (FRQ). This calculator uses a simplified model to estimate your score:
- MCQ Performance: Percentage of correct answers out of 60 questions.
- FRQ Performance: Raw points earned out of an approximate maximum of 40 points.
Predicted Composite Score (out of 100) = ( (Correct MCQs / 60) * 0.5 ) + ( (Raw FRQ Points / 40) * 0.5 ) * 100
This composite score is then mapped to a final AP® score (1-5) using common, approximate cutoffs.
